Karlyn Benn, Licensed Professional Counselor and keynote speaker

With more than 15 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Karlyn Benn brings a grounded understanding of how people communicate, protect themselves, respond to pressure, and navigate relationships.

Her work is informed by professional expertise and personal experience. She helps audiences look beyond surface behavior and consider the beliefs, patterns, fears, and unmet needs that often shape how people show up.

"I had the résumé. The titles. Everything that was supposed to make me feel confident. And I still didn't trust myself."

Whether she is speaking to women about self-trust or helping teams work through differences, Karlyn invites people into honest reflection without shame. Her approach is warm, direct, practical, and deeply human.

Her Story

The Woman I Help Used to Be Me.

Karlyn Benn seated, sharing her story

I chased degrees and certifications the way some people chase approval. Because for a long time, that is exactly what they were. Every credential was a quiet attempt to finally feel like enough. I doubted myself in rooms I had earned a seat in. I dimmed my light so others would feel comfortable. I people-pleased my way through entire seasons of my life until it almost took me out.

That experience is the reason I do this work. It taught me that self-doubt, perfectionism, and people-pleasing are not character flaws. They are patterns, often learned early, that once kept us safe. And patterns can change. My personal journey led me to create the F.R.E.E. Method, built from the gap between who I knew I was and the patterns that kept me from living like it.

Today I bring compassion and accountability into the same room. I hold space for what is hard without letting anyone stay stuck there. The work is honest, sometimes uncomfortable, and deeply freeing. It does not ask you to perform vulnerability on cue. It makes room for reflection you can actually use, long after the event is over, in your work, your leadership, your family, and your friendships.

Whether Karlyn is helping a woman trust herself more fully or helping a team work through differences, the work begins with the same invitation: notice what is happening beneath the surface and take responsibility for what happens next.
